Had a scare the other day!!!

I had an internal exam on Monday and all was well. Finger tip dilated but nothing. Hubby and I decided to do some x-mas shopping. When I was putting the bags in the car I felt something "pop" and there was a gush of wetness. I went to the ladies room and I was bleeding like crazy and there were clots. It wouldn't stop. It soaked my underwear, soaked through my jeans, and soaked onto a napkin. I called doc and at 1st they tried to act like it was "normal" to bleed after an exam. I tried to explain to them that this was not normal spotting. Girl on the phone finally (after 10 minutes agruing with me) tells me to go to the hospital. In the hospital my nurse was a early 50's lady and just keep telling me everything was normal. I told her I was having contractions (which I was) and she was telling me I wasn't. She finally felt my belly and said oh those are mild contractions. URG!!!!!!! They put me on the monitors and low and behold I was contracting. Of course through this I am still bleeding. The midwife did an exam and said I was still only finger tip dilated. The bleeding/clot passing finally slowed down and after 2 hours the contractions slowed down too. The midwife told me that there is no way to know where the bleeding came from but nurse normal insists that it was due to the doctor breaking a capiliary (spelling?) on my cervix. Through this whole thing nurse normal just acted like I was over reacting. Well to her she may have seen this before but to me it was not normal. I was so irritated with people saying this was normal. DH was hitting a nerve too through this whole thing. He was itching to come home and get me clean clothes. After saying it 3 times I finally told him that if being with me through this was so much trouble than he can leave. He got the message and sat down.

The bleeding and contractions have stopped. I spent the whole day in bed yesterday. I was exhausted so I decided to make it a relaxing day. I am a little scared to start really doing much and since it is snowing I think I will have another one of those days.

Oh Dh and I made the decision to have a c-section. Doc thinks this is a good idea. It is now scheduled for the 18th due to surgery room scheduling. I am on a cancellation list for the 16th since DH took that day off. Either way we will have having this baby next week!!!
